Name the Biafra agitators on the payroll, IPOB demanded of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has asked the Federal Government to reveal the names of those it claims to be paying in the Southeast to end the Biafra republic agitation.
It stated that failing to reveal the names of the recipients and evidence of those payments would be considered one of the shameless lies that had become the Federal Government’s hallmark.
Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, was quoted as saying that in the past, demands for secession were used to extract money from sitting presidents, but that President Muhammadu Buhari would not resort to such methods.
However, IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Strong, accused the Buhari administration of attempting to buy off the organization’s chief, Nnamdi Kanu.
IPOB said that the Federal Government sought to persuade Kanu to quit the Biafra movement with “irresistible offers,” which Kanu refused.
Before embarking on any military campaign in the Southeast, the party urged the President to first crush the bandits and terrorists who had invaded the North.
