At least 20 women were abducted while attending a naming ceremony in Gidan Bido village, Dandume Local Government Area, Katsina State, by armed bandits.
The incident happened on Friday, according to Katsina Post.
On Saturday, the gunmen also attacked and abducted five men in Dandume LGA’s Unguwar Bawa village.
Unguwar Bawa is the member of the Katsina State House of Assembly who represents Dandume LGA.
Katsina is one of the states in Nigeria’s North-West region most affected by terrorism and banditry.
On December 11, 2020, some bandits abducted 344 students from Kankara’s Government Science Secondary School. They were made public about a week later.
On the other hand, on December 19, 84 Islamiyya students of Hizburrahim Islamiyya in Mahuta village, Dandume Local Government Area of the state, were kidnapped and rescued.
