The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has given free tickets to superstar TuBaba, DJ Switch, Nollywood diva Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, and soccer star Ahmed Musa to run for any elective office of their choice in the 2023 general elections.
Ralph Okey Nwosu, the party’s National Chairman, made the announcement while accepting a certificate of endorsement as “the one-party for Nigerian youths and women” for the 2023 elections.
Nwosu explained that the party chose celebrities for the 2023 general elections to encourage youth involvement and participation in politics, saying that entertainers have done more for the country than elected officials.
He told the stars that if they met the requirements outlined in the 1999 constitution (as amended) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines, they could run for governorship, senatorial seats, or even the highest office in the land on the ADC platform.
The party also praised Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa for making the unusual decision to return to NPFL side Kano Pillars after playing in Europe and Asia for many years.
