The Bauchi State chapter of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), popularly known as Izala, has urged the Federal Government to take immediate action to address the current spate of insecurity in all parts of Nigeria.
The religious organisation made the call in a statement signed by its state chairman, Barrister Garba Hassan, and made available to Bauchi journalists, adding that the central government should also deal decisively with dubious characters who have never concealed their intention to see the country collapse and disintegrate.
JIBWIS urged the Federal Government and security agencies to increase their efforts in tackling the country’s numerous security threats, and recommended that intelligence gathering be prioritised.
“We urge the Federal Government and security agencies to increase their efforts in addressing the country’s numerous security challenges. Intelligence gathering issues should be given serious consideration, according to Hassan.
Meanwhile, the group stated that the accusation levelled against Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, is an effort to bring him down considering the enormous strides he has made in Nigeria’s communications sector.
According to JIBWIS, the minister’s suspected links to terrorist group Al-Qaeda were aimed at President Muhammadu Buhari, declaring that it was “nothing other than the pursuit of the pure hate, grudges, and ill-will being nursed against the president himself.”
According to Hassan, JIBWIS noted with “dismay that the pull-him-down war being waged against Dr Pantami in his current role as a senior member of President Buhari’s cabinet is nothing but pursuit of the sheer hate, grudges, and ill-will being nursed against the President himself.”
He went on to say that the accusations were made by “both known and hidden enemies of the administration who have, from the beginning, never missed an opportunity to express negative, poor, and mischievous opinion about the government to the point of openly endorsing agitations and attempting to bring the entire regime down.”
“So, essentially, the current campaign of slander, extortion, and hate directed at the genuinely patriotic, performing, and responsible Dr Isa Ali Pantami is a continuation of a long-planned effort to undermine the current administration.”
