Chidinma Ekile, the 2010 Project Fame West Africa winner, has revealed her new career as a gospel singer.
When Chidinma won the music talent show, she won many people’s hearts with her sonorous voice.
She became known as Ms. Kedike after her 2012 hit single “Kedike” from her debut album “Chidinma.”
The singer announced her new status in a series of Instagram posts on Sunday as she turned 30, noting that she is now a “crusader of the gospel of Jesus” and has also released a single titled “Jehovah Overdo” to commemorate her rebranding.
“My name is Chidinma Ekile, and I am a Minister. I’m a crusader for Jesus’ gospel. “I am a crusader for Jesus Christ’s gospel,” she wrote. “I’m also grateful to God for another year of life,” she wrote.
The gospel minister has also rebranded her Instagram profile, removing previous images and albums from her time as a secular performer.
Chidinma’s pop career got off to a rousing start in 2011 with her debut single “Jankoliko,” which featured Sound Sultan.
While signed to iLLBliss and Clarence Peters’ record label “Capital Hill/Goretti Company,” she had many hit songs.
She was named “Best Female West African Act” at the 2012 KORA Awards. At the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards, she was nominated for “Best Female Act.”
Chidinma is currently signed to Eezee Concepts, the same label that represents famous gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.
