Okiemute Deborah, a Benue State University graduate, was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Makurdi Zonal Office shortly after flaunting her luxurious lifestyle on Facebook.
Deborah and three other alleged members of an internet fraud syndicate were apprehended in the state capital on Saturday, May 1, 2021, in response to an intelligence report.

According to a statement released by the Commission’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, on Tuesday, May 4, in Makurdi, “Okiemute Deborah, Gideon Damisa, Sunday James, and Friday Ebosele, were rounded up by Commission operatives following intelligence report on their suspected criminal activities in and around Makurdi metropolis.”
“At the time of his arrest, Gideon Damisa was in possession of a Mercedes Benz GLK 350 2010 Model, 1 iPhone, 2 Pro Max, 2 Infinix phones, and ATM cards, among other things. They will be charged in court soon,” Uwajaren added.
