The EFCC arrests 34 people in Osogbo for internet fraud

A former soldier and 33 others have been arrested for internet fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Office.

This is according to a statement signed by its spokesman, Wilson Uwujarena, and made available to journalists in Ibadan on Tuesday.

The suspects were apprehended at various locations in Osogbo, according to the spokesperson.

Mr Uwujaren went on to say that the EFCC detained the 22-year-old former soldier and other suspects “on the basis of confirmed information on their suspected involvement in cybercrime.”

The EFCC stated that the suspects had voluntarily provided statements to the commission and would be charged in court after the inquiries were completed.
