A group of youths calling themselves “Saraki is Coming in 2023” organised a rally to apologise for previously reprimanding former Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki and to encourage him to run for president in 2023.
The event, which was organised by Umar Faringida, the group’s coordinator, saw a large number of youths chanting “Nigeria Sai Saraki 2023,” which translates as “Nigeria for Saraki 2023.” It took place in Kano on Sunday.
“Following Nigeria’s current challenges, which include insecurity, unemployment, extreme poverty, and, worst of all, a deteriorating economy, we have decided to publicly apologise to Abubakar Bukola Saraki and also to invite him to run for President in 2023.
“We believe that with his experience and knowledge, he possesses the ability to resolve the country’s current problems of disunity.
“We are all witnesses to the country’s current situation, in which tribal and sectional sentiments are eroding the country’s very foundations.
“As a result, it is critical for Nigerian youths to rise and elect a committed and dedicated leader capable of rescuing the country, and we believe that no one is more qualified than Abubakar Bukola Saraki.
“We saw Saraki’s contribution as governor of Kwara state and as President of the Senate, which had been without a serious assembly since he left.
“It has become necessary for him to rise up and respond to the call of Nigerian youths to come out and save the country from the current crisis. He should return and resume his journey from where he left off.
“This is the goal of the group Saraki is Coming 2023,” Faringida told rally attendees.
